When
I inherited my great grandparents clock from my parents,
I wanted to get it running again.
Believe it or not, I couldn’t find one clock
repair shop in all of Louisville Kentucky.
That’s when I found Clock Doctors on the web.
I sent them my clock and they refinished the case
and repaired the movement to run again in only 3 weeks.
My family and I really enjoy and appreciate it so
much. I’d
like to say thanks clock doctors for all you’ve done.
I couldn’t be more pleased.
I’ll recommend you to anyone I know in
Louisville that need your services.

Our
antique cuckoo clock was in and out of probably 6
different shops and no one seemed to be able to fix
it. We
happened to stumble on the clock doctors website and
dropped them a line including our phone number.
They returned our call the next day.
We began to have a complete feeling of comfort
from the moment we started talking.
They really did seem to know what they were
talking about. We
sent them our clock and although it took them a bit
longer than expected (mainly due to all of the
unskilled hands that had attempted to fix it in the
past) we still had our clock back in less than 2
months. We
were very surprised since other shops had kept our
clock for as long as a year and still didn’t fix it
right. Now, for the first time in almost 8 years, our
clock is running in our home.

We
purchased a wall clock from a local antique store and
were told at the time we purchased it that it needed
some mechanical work. We loved the look and it seemed
affordable so we thought we’d surely be able to find
someone to fix it. We had it in and out of local shops
for years and the bottom line was this.
We’d spent over $700.00 and the thing still
wouldn’t work like it should.
It wouldn’t keep good time.
It wouldn’t continue to run. And, it still
had some problems with the chimes.
Our great value was turning out to be not so
great anymore. Not
sure what to do next, we turned to the web.
That’s when we found Clock Doctors.
They instructed us on how to properly pack our
clock and upon receiving it they called us. As it
turns out, what we thought was the biggest problem in
the beginning, really wasn’t a problem at all.
Originally, the clock would strike on the hour,
and then again a few minutes after the hour as well as
it wouldn’t run an entire week.
When Clock Doctors called us back, they
informed us that what we had purchased was a French
Repeater style clock and that it was actually supposed
to strike the hour on the hour and then again about 3
minutes after. This
was because the monks believed that they should pray
for 3 minutes at the beginning of every hour.
When the clock started striking the hour, the
monks would begin praying.
When it struck the hour again, they knew it was
time to stop. They told us that these types of clocks were somewhat rare
but that they had worked on several of them.
The problem we had now, was that due to all of
the so called clock repairmen that had been in there
trying to fix a problem that really wasn’t a problem
at all, there were several parts of our clock that
were bent and some even filed down. Therefore, it
wouldn’t strike at all anymore.
Although we spent a little more on the repairs
than we wanted to, our clock now runs in our home as
if it were new, thanks to Clock Doctors.
We only wish we had found them right after we
purchased the clock in the first place. We’d be
about $700 ahead right now.
Many thanks to the staff at Clock Doctors for
getting us going again!!!!
